Two Types of Wealth Corners

In feng shui, wealth corners are divided into two types: the "fixed wealth corner" and the "annual wealth corner." The fixed wealth corner is a permanent position determined by the orientation of your home; the annual wealth corner changes each year based on the position of the flying stars. Combining both is the key to maximizing the effect of attracting and accumulating wealth.

Fixed Wealth Corner

The fixed wealth corner, also known as the "earth luck wealth corner," is determined by the orientation of the house and the position of the main entrance. Traditionally, the principle of "left support, right assist" is followed:

• When the main door is on the left, the wealth corner is on the diagonal position to the right
• When the main door is on the right, the wealth corner is on the diagonal position to the left
• When the main door is in the center, the wealth corner is at the 45-degree diagonal position

Annual Wealth Corner

The annual wealth corner is determined by the Nine Palaces Flying Star chart for each year. The direction of the wealth star changes every year. The wealth-attracting effect of the annual wealth corner is more direct than the fixed wealth corner, but it has a shorter duration and needs to be readjusted each year.

Activating the Wealth Corner

After finding the wealth corner, you need to "activate" it with appropriate items so it can serve its function of accumulating wealth. Here are several commonly used activation methods:

1. Place auspicious items: The most commonly used are Pixiu, golden toads, and wealth deity statues, all of which symbolize attracting and accumulating wealth.
2. Place green plants: Choose round-leaved and broad-leaved plants such as money trees and kumquats, symbolizing vitality and abundant wealth.
3. Place a treasure bowl: Inside the treasure bowl, you can place coins, crystal balls, etc., to enhance the effect of accumulating wealth.
4. Hang landscape paintings: Choose landscape paintings featuring flowing water or mountains, symbolizing "mountains govern people, water governs wealth."

Wealth Corner Taboos

There are also some taboos to avoid when arranging the wealth corner:

• Never leave it empty: The wealth corner must have a solid wall behind it, symbolizing a reliable backing, so wealth energy can gather stably.
• Avoid pressure: There should be no beams or heavy objects above the wealth corner, as this will suppress your financial luck.
• Avoid water: Do not place a fish tank or water feature, as water represents dispersing wealth and may lead to financial loss.
• Avoid filth: The wealth corner should be clean and bright, not cluttered with miscellaneous items or a trash bin.
• Avoid direct clashes: The wealth corner should not directly face a door or window, as this will cause wealth energy to flow outward.

If your living room layout limits your wealth corner arrangement, consider these alternative methods:

1. Wealth corner clashing with a door: Place a screen or tall green plant in front of the wealth corner to resolve it.
2. Beam above the wealth corner: Hang a copper gourd or place a Taishan stone guardian beneath the beam.
3. Insufficient lighting in the wealth corner: Install soft warm-tone lighting; avoid cold-tone lights.
4. Clutter in the wealth corner: Clean it up promptly and keep it neat and bright.
