Mencius said: "Heaven's timing is not as good as Earth's advantage. Earth's advantage is not as good as Human harmony."
The phrase "天时地利人和" (timing, terrain, and unity) became the Chinese framework for evaluating any enterprise. Success requires three things: the right moment, the right position, and the right people. Of the three, the third is most important.
天时不如地利,地利不如人和。
天时不如地利,地利不如人和。

Core Wisdom
You cannot control the weather or the terrain. But you can build a team that is united in purpose. And that is the one factor that matters most.
Mencius's hierarchy is clear: timing (天时) is the least controllable, terrain (地利) is partially controllable, and human harmony (人和) is the most controllable — and the most powerful. The leader who secures all three is unstoppable; the leader who secures only human harmony still has the strongest advantage.
This framework is used in Chinese business, military, and political analysis. It is the Chinese SWOT analysis — but with a clearer hierarchy of importance.
