About the Author 作者简介

刘义庆，南朝宋宗室，袭封临川王。性简素，爱好文学，门下招聚才学之士。除《幽明录》外，另著《世说新语》，为六朝文学双璧。

Liu Yiqing, prince of Linchuan, was a Liu Song royal who assembled scholars at his court. Besides this ghost story collection, he compiled A New Account of Tales of the World — together they form the twin jewels of Six Dynasties literature.
