史实与传说
📚 Historical Fact
Wang Chongyang (王重阳, born 王嚞) was a native of Shaanxi who, after failing to achieve worldly success, devoted himself to Daoist cultivation. He famously dug a grave and lived in it for three years, calling it the "Tomb of the Living Dead" (活死人墓).
After emerging from his tomb, he attracted seven disciples (the Seven Perfected Ones, 全真七子) and founded the Quanzhen (Complete Perfection) school — combining Daoist meditation, Buddhist discipline, and Confucian ethics into a rigorous monastic tradition. His most famous disciple, Qiu Chuji, later met Genghis Khan and won protection for Taoism across the Mongol Empire.
