史实与传说
📚 Historical Fact
The Seven Perfected Ones (全真七子) were the seven main disciples of Wang Chongyang, founder of Quanzhen Taoism. Each founded a sub-lineage that spread the tradition across China. They are: Ma Yu (马钰), Tan Chuduan (谭处端), Liu Chuxuan (刘处玄), Qiu Chuji (丘处机), Wang Chuyi (王处一), Hao Datong (郝大通), and Sun Buer (孙不二).
Their most historically significant member was Qiu Chuji (丘处机), who traveled 5,000 miles to meet Genghis Khan in Central Asia. The Khan asked him about the elixir of immortality; Qiu Chuji answered that there is no physical elixir — only the cultivation of virtue. Impressed, Genghis Khan granted Taoism protection across his vast empire.
