The Mysterious Ancestor of Heaven and Earth,
root origin of ten thousand Qi.
Cultivated through a hundred million kalpas,
it validates my divine powers.
Within and beyond the Three Realms,
only the Tao stands supreme.
The body bears a golden light
that shrouds and illuminates my form.
Look — it cannot be seen.
Listen — it cannot be heard.
It encompasses Heaven and Earth,
nourishing and raising all living beings.
Recite it ten thousand times,
and the body radiates with light.
The Three Realms attend as guards;
the Five Emperors welcome you in person.
Ten thousand spirits bow in reverence;
one commands the thunder at will.
Demos and specters lose their courage;
spirits and monsters lose their form.
The Thunder God conceals his name;
penetrating wisdom interpenetrates all.
Five Qi soar and blaze —
the Golden Light swiftly appears,
shielding and protecting the True One.
Swiftly, as the law commands!
✧ Spiritual Purpose ✧
The Mantra of Golden Light is considered one of the most powerful protective mantras in Taoism. It invokes a radiant golden light (金光) that envelops the practitioner's body, forming an impenetrable shield against all forms of evil, demons, and negative forces. This mantra connects the practitioner to the primordial cosmic energy (元气) that existed before Heaven and Earth were formed. It is widely used for spiritual protection, exorcism, and the empowerment of talismans. Reciting this mantra regularly is believed to cultivate supernatural abilities (神通), attract the protection of celestial deities including the Five Emperors (五帝) and Thunder Gods (雷神), and transform the practitioner's body into a vessel of divine radiance.
