— Zhuangzi, Free and Easy Wandering · 📖
Annotation
"The sage has no name" — not from obscurity but transcending attachment to fame. The true sage is like the Tao itself: nameless and formless, yet transforming all things. Laozi said "the Tao is hidden and nameless"; Zhuangzi applied this to the ideal of personality.
Modern Application
Do we pursue true value or visible value? The best works are unsigned — they exist because they are useful, not because they are famous.
