— Zhuangzi, The Way of Heaven
Annotation
Wheelwright Bian found: too loose means easy but insecure; too tight means hard to fit. The perfect balance — hand responding to heart — cannot be transmitted in words. He questioned book-learning: the essence dies with the sage; what remains is 'the dregs of the ancients.'
Modern Application
Some knowledge comes only through practice; Books cannot replace. The best master teaches not formulas but guides you to feel the right balance. In the AI age, this 'tacit knowledge' is more precious than ever.
