「涤除玄览」是老子对心灵修养的深刻指引。「玄览」即玄妙的心镜——人心本如明镜，能照见万物真相，但被欲望、偏见、成见所蒙蔽。「涤除」就是洗涤清除这些遮蔽，让心镜恢复本来的清明。这一比喻后来被禅宗发展为「心如明镜台，时时勤拂拭」。
"Purify the mysterious mirror" — the mind is originally like a bright mirror reflecting truth, but obscured by desires and biases. "Purifying" means cleansing these obscurations, restoring original clarity. This metaphor was later developed by Zen Buddhism.
