「见性成佛」是六祖慧能的核心教义。「性」即佛性、自性——每个人本来具有的觉悟本性。慧能主张佛性本自清净、本自具足，不需要向外求觅，只需要认识它、见到它，当下就是佛。这是禅宗最革命性的思想：成佛不是遥远的目标，而是当下的事。
'See your nature and become a Buddha' is the core teaching of Sixth Patriarch Huineng. 'Nature' (xing) means Buddha-nature — the innate capacity for awakening that every person possesses. Huineng taught that this nature is originally pure and complete; one need not seek externally but simply recognize it.
