Original Text

— Daodejing, Chapter 22 · 📖

Annotation

"Bent then whole" is Laozi's dialectical wisdom. Bending leads to wholeness, crookedness leads to straightness. Trees survive storms by bending; rivers reach the sea by curving. Not mere strategy but survival wisdom following the natural Tao.

Modern Application

Setbacks and detours are not failures but necessary paths to success. Appropriate yielding and compromise preserve lasting connections.
