「大彻大悟」是禅宗对终极觉悟的描述。「彻」是透彻、彻底，「悟」是觉悟、醒悟——不是一点点明白，而是彻底地、完全地明了宇宙人生的真相。禅宗认为，这种大悟往往发生在长期修行之后的某个瞬间——就像水烧到一百度突然沸腾。
'Great and complete enlightenment' is Zen's description of ultimate awakening. 'Che' means thorough; 'wu' means awakening — not partial understanding but complete clarity about the nature of reality. In Zen, this often occurs in an instant after long practice.
