📖 释义 Annotation
「借花献佛」出自佛经中善慧菩萨的本生故事。善慧欲以花供佛,但花已被人买尽。一位宫女分给他两枝花,善慧将花献给佛陀,并发下大愿。这个故事的本意是:即使条件不完美,只要有真诚的供养心,同样可以获得功德。后世引申为借用他人的东西来做自己的人情。
'Borrow flowers to offer to the Buddha' comes from the jataka story of Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Wanting to offer flowers to the Buddha but finding them all sold, a palace maid gave him two stems. He offered them and made a great vow. The original meaning: even without perfect conditions, sincere devotion creates merit.
