寿陵少年模仿邯郸步法，不仅没学会，连自己的走路方式也忘了。比喻盲目模仿他人，失去自我。 A youth from Shouling imitated the Handan style of walking, failing to learn it and forgetting his own gait. A parable of losing oneself through blind imitation.

别人走也走，别人跑也跑。比喻事事模仿追随别人，毫无主见。 Walk when others walk, run when others run. Describes slavishly following another's every move without independent thought.

丑女东施模仿美女西施捧心皱眉，反而更加丑陋。比喻不顾条件盲目模仿，效果适得其反。 The homely Dong Shi imitated the beautiful Xi Shi's pained frown, only to appear more repulsive. Blind copying without understanding one's own nature backfires.

拉一下衣襟就露出胳膊肘。形容衣衫褴褛、生活窘迫，也比喻处处受困、捉襟见肘。 Tugging at one's lapel exposes the elbows — describing threadbare poverty or being stretched thin, unable to cover all needs at once.

花尽家财学屠龙之术，却无龙可杀。比喻所学虽高深却毫无用处。 Spending a fortune to learn the art of slaying dragons, yet there are no dragons to slay. Grand skills with no practical application.

买了装珍珠的盒子却把珍珠退回。比喻舍本逐末，取舍不当。 Buying the ornate box and returning the pearl inside. Choosing the superficial over the essential, missing the point entirely.

鲁侯用款待自己的方式养海鸟，海鸟不食不饮三日而死。比喻以己之好强加于人，不顺其性。 The Marquis of Lu kept a sea bird with lavish court ceremonies; the bird starved and died within three days. Imposing one's own standards on others against their nature.

井底之蛙只能看到井口大的天空。比喻目光短浅、见识狭隘。 A frog in a well can only see a patch of sky the size of the well's mouth. Narrow vision born of limited experience.

鸱鸟得到腐鼠，以为是珍馐，怕凤凰来夺。比喻以小人之心度君子之腹。 An owl clutches a rotten rat and fears the phoenix will steal it. Projecting one's petty values onto the noble-minded.

庄子与惠子在濠水桥上辩论鱼之乐。名理与直觉、逻辑与体悟的千古之辩。 Zhuangzi and Huizi debate the happiness of fish on the Hao River bridge. The eternal contest between logic and intuitive knowing.

濠水鱼儿从容游乐，庄子以此证鱼之快乐。物我交融、移情自然的哲学典范。 Fish swim leisurely in the Hao River — Zhuangzi's proof of their happiness. A paradigm of empathetic communion between self and nature.

咳唾落地皆成珠玉。形容言辞精妙，字字珠玑。 Every cough and spit falls as pearls and jade. Describing speech of extraordinary brilliance and precision.

太仓中的一粒谷粟。比喻极其渺小微不足道。 A single grain of millet in the vast imperial granary. Describing something infinitesimally small and insignificant.

从瓮中看天，所见甚小。比喻见识狭隘、目光短浅。与「井蛙之见」义近。 Looking at the sky from inside a jar — the view is pitifully small. A cousin of the well-frog parable on narrow-mindedness.

河伯至北海，望洋兴叹。面对浩瀚，方知自身渺小。 The River God reaches the North Sea and sighs in awe. Only before true vastness does one recognize one's own smallness.

庄子宁愿像乌龟在泥中拖着尾巴自在地活，也不愿被供奉在庙堂之上。向往自由、蔑视权贵。 Zhuangzi would rather drag his tail in the mud like a turtle than be preserved and honored in a temple. Freedom over prestige.

顾盼之间风姿绰约。形容人神采奕奕，举止优雅，自有风韵。 With every glance, grace abounds. Describing someone whose natural elegance and bearing captivate all who see them.

双眸明亮如剪出的秋水。形容目光清澈明亮，灵动有神。 Eyes bright as autumn water cut by scissors. Describing a gaze of crystalline clarity and vivid spirit.

将死亡看得和生存一样平常。形容无畏勇毅，超越生死之限。 Regarding death as no different from life. Fearless equanimity that transcends the boundary between living and dying.

不划分界限，不分彼此。比喻胸襟开阔，消除偏见与隔阂。 Drawing no boundaries or distinctions. Broad-minded openness that dissolves prejudice and division.

吃腥臭的东西，啄食腐烂的食物。比喻追求卑劣之物，趣味低下。 Eating raw flesh and pecking at rotten scraps. Pursuing the vulgar and base rather than the lofty and true.

比喻微不足道的事物。庄子以此讽刺那些以无价值之物自得的人。 An abandoned chick and a rotten rat — things of no worth. Zhuangzi's satire on those who prize the worthless.

水面与天空浑然一色。形容壮阔的自然景象，也喻天地万物浑然一体。 Water and sky merge into a single hue. Evoking the sublime unity of nature and the oneness of all things.

不是愚昧无知就是故意歪曲。形容言论荒谬，非蠢即坏。 If not foolish then slanderous. Describing absurd claims that are either born of ignorance or deliberate distortion.

一天跑一千里。形容进步极快，日新月异。 Covering a thousand miles in a single day. Describing breathtaking speed of progress or advancement.
