盲和尚以鼻嗅文章判优劣——好文章闻之馨香，烂文章嗅之作呕。考官偏取臭文，盲僧叹曰：「仆虽盲于目，犹不盲于鼻。」科举弊病的辛辣讽刺。

A blind monk judges essays by smell — good ones are fragrant, bad ones stink. The examiner picks the stinking one. The monk sighs: "Though my eyes are blind, my nose is not."

清初于七之乱后的冤魂故事。书生遇女鬼公孙九娘，二人相爱，但冤魂无法复活。蒲松龄以鬼写史，控诉清初屠杀的暴行。

After the Yu Qi rebellion, a scholar meets ghost Gong Sun Jiuniang. They fall in love but the wronged spirit cannot return to life — Pu Songling uses ghosts to condemn Qing dynasty massacres.

鼠精之女阿纤嫁入农家，勤劳持家。婆家发现其身份后百般刁难，阿纤含泪离去——偏见与歧视的寓言，蒲松龄对「异类」最温柔的辩护。

A rat spirit's daughter marries into a farming family and proves to be an exemplary wife. When her identity is discovered, she is driven out — a parable on prejudice and Pu Songling's gentlest defense of the "other."
